Jules is a filmmaker from Virginia and a third-year Cinema student at VCU Arts. Her passion for film began in adolescence, but she's always been a natural storyteller at heart. At first, Jules pursued acting, and during her time on sets, she found herself fascinated by the process taking place behind the camera. At just 16 years old, Jules wrote her first feature screenplay. By 19, she premiered it in Richmond, VA. What started as a self-taught passion in her teens has become her educational and career path in adulthood. Jules feels at home on film sets, and cannot see herself doing anything other than creating.
It would not be accurate to consolidate Jules' experience and aspirations into one channel of filmmaking. From the time she started to making films, she had to learn every aspect from pre to post-production on her own - in fact, her first film school was Youtube and the internet. This "one-stop-shop" approach can be seen in her well-rounded range of credits and projects she has had multiple key creative roles in.
Jules' main strengths are writing, directing, cinematography, and editing (with an emphasis on sound design). Whether she is taking on one role or several, she is an enthusiatic collaborator and a strong leader. Jules also has experience being a camera operator, assistant director, producer, unit production manager, set decorator, and costume designer.
